2007 Default Offlice Address Book after 2013 Migration

After migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 I see in ADSEDIT that there are 2 offline address books now. One from the 2007 server and one for the 2013 server. I should be able to delete the 2007 OAB without any issue, Right? Getting the following error. I believe that the 2007 OAB is related.

Event ID 2161

That looks like a public folder database whose directory object didn't get deleted properly.

There's nothing wrong with having two OABs, one for each version, with the databases in each version using the appropriate one.  In fact it's sometimes the only practical way to make things work.  I do it all the time.

If you're hell-bent on removing the Exchange 2007 OAB, you'll have to remove it as the OfflineAddressBook property from all databases and substitute the other one, but you might find that it doesn't work right across versions.

Hi,

You need not to delete the old OAB, you can move the old OAB to New server.
Once the move is done, point the moved OAB to all the Mailbox Database of the new server.

You can delete old OAB only when you are not running into any issue with OAB. We may keep it untill Exchange 2007 is decommissioned.

David

Why is moving it a best practice?

There are no more 2007 servers, databases or public folders. All Database are pointing to "Default Offline Address Book (Ex 2013)".
