2K3 Domain Functional Level / Exchange 2007 / 2K8 R2
I am attempting to install Exchange 2007 in an organization with an existing Exchange 2003 server. The DC's are 2K3 SP2. I am installing it on a 2K8 R2 server and am being asked to install AD on the 2008 R2 Server. I just want to make sure that it will not affect the existing domain especially the Terminal Server licensing.

Hi, Exchange 2007 hasn't any known issue with terminal server licensing. Also, I understand that you want to install Exchange 2007 on 2008 R2 which is a domain controller: "This is not recommanded" !! Windows 2008 R2 support Exchange 2007 SP3. Take care of that. Good luckBest Regards Don't forget to mark it as answer if it helps

Sorry the server is not a dc but the install t is asking for me to run ServerManagerCmd -i RSAT-ADDS which I believe to be Active directory. I just wanted to make sure that it does not cause a problem with my existing 2003 domain licenses ie Terminal Server Licensing.

Hello, the RSAT-ADDS are not the AD DS directly but only the management tools provided to manage a remote AD DS instance. RSAT = Remote Server Administration Tools Greetings, Toni

Agree with da_doni. RSAT is a prerequisites for exchange 2007 installation. Also, there's no any known issue caused by this component. It's only provide tools for remote administration. Best regards Best Regards Don't forget to mark it as answer if it helps
