2 active/active DAG scenario with 3rd site for FSW question

Hi Exchange experts !

I'm currently working on a design with the following components :

- 2 datacenters DC1 & DC2
- 2 DAGs ; DAG1 has active db in one datacenter and passive in the other. The opposite is configured for DAG2
- for each DAG, 2 servers in each datacenter
- FSW is configured in a third site (one FSW for each DAG)

In the case the link between the 2 datacenter fail, how can I determine, for each DAG, which servers will stay up & running ? Should I consider than those that have more active copies or hold the PAM will stay online and, on the other servers, in the other datacenter will stop cluster service ?

Thanks for your help. HAve a great day.

The node the owns the cluster ( The PAM) will generally have first shot at locking the File Share Witness and quorum will be maintained at that node.

There is a property in the cluster called "ArbitrationDelay" that governs the non-cluster owning time before they can attempt to lock the FSW. The default is 6 seconds.

Per:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj151953%28v=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

If cluster nodes lose communication with each other and  a file share witness is needed to maintain a quorum, the node that owns the quorum resource gets the first chance to lock the file share witness. This property specifies the delay before another node can lock the file share witness
