2k7sp3 - journal mailbox in other AD site
Hi All,
I've deployed 2k7sp3 [CAS, HUB, MB] in a non-internet facing AD site. We use archiving solution which is using IMAP-993 to collect mgs from journal mailbox.
There is one journal mailbox set per database. 2k7sp3 does not support IMAP proxing.
What are the implications of setting up journal mailbox for non-internet facing database on a 2k7sp3 MB server in my internet facing site? Can you see any problems with this solution?
There is a high speed link between non-internet facing and internet facing AD site.
Many thanks,
Pawel

Seems like it would be fine. Monitor queue length and network usage for further detail.

I think it can be achieve.
When you create a journal rule in Exchange Server 2007, that change is applied to all Hub Transport servers in your organization
via Active Directory. All Hub Transport servers, and therefore all Journaling agents, read the same configuration from Active Directory. Therefore, this blanket coverage ensures that all journaling agents apply the same journaling configuration.
Keep Active Directory replication times in mind when you create or modify journal rules, as a configuration change needs
to be replicated throughout your organization and read by the Hub Transport servers. This could take several hours.
