2nd Ex2007 CAS server not showing /exchange folders
We have an Exchange 2000 environment running on Windows 2000 server, we are in the process of migrating over to Exchange 2007 SP2 runing on Win2k8 servers. mail_srv01 - EX2000 mailcas01 - EX2007 with CS and Hub mailbox01 - EX2007 with MB We had this setup working correctly, so if a user went to https://mailcas01/exchange and logged in if their mailbox was on the EX2000 they would be redirected to the old webmail, if they logged in with a mailbox on EX2007 they would be redirected to the new webmail. So now we had that working, we added an ISA 2006 server into our DMZ to get external webmail and activesync working. We then discovered you can not have FBA on both the CAS and ISA server, since we want both internal users and external users to have the same login page we decided to reconfigure our exchange setup. We created a new server called mailsrv1 with CS, Hub, MB roles installed on it set to FBA authentication and we were able to connect fine to that, during this time both mailcas01 and mailmbx01 are still in use by some trial users. Our plan is to remove the hub transport role from mailcas01 and have mailsrv1 do that role, we would then set the authentication to basic to allow FBA to work on the ISA server. The problem we are having is mailsrv1 has not created the /exchange /public /exchadmin folders in ESM although they still exist on mailcas01. Since I need these folders to enable a user to goto https://mailsrv1/exchange and be redirected to the correct webmail. So any help in how I can get this to work is appricated Thanks Dave

It's probably because you've deployed the CAS and Mailbox server roles on the same server. See "Deployment Considerations" here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb885041(EXCHG.80).aspxNeil Hobson, Exchange MVP
