A have a problem with my Excel workbook.
Hello,

I have received the following error from an Excel workbook that I have been using:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="true"?> -<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>error056520_01.xml</logFileName><summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Excel\Function and Formulas for Excel.xlsm'</summary>-<removedFeatures summary="Following is a list of removed features:"><removedFeature>Removed Feature: Object from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature><removedFeature>Removed Feature: OLE Control Extension from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature></removedFeatures></recoveryLog>

So..my question is how to fix this error?

Thanks.

Hi,

Did you get the whole error message like this?

===

Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content:

                              Removed Feature: Object from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)
                              Removed Feature: OLE Control Extension from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)
                              Lost ActiveX controls."

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="true"?> -<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>error056520_01.xml</logFileName><summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Excel\Function and Formulas for Excel.xlsm'</summary>-<removedFeatures summary="Following is a list of removed features:"><removedFeature>Removed Feature: Object from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature><removedFeature>Removed Feature: OLE Control Extension from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature></removedFeatures></recoveryLog>

Based on the log, >>'C:\Excel\Function and Formulas for Excel.xlsm'<<, it seems a XLSM file that includes some macros. The macros may be corrupted, we'd better debug the code.

Then, this file also may be corrupted, please try to recover it.

BTW, there is a similar issue, we also can refer to, I copied part of the reply here:

===

The actual problem in this case was that the user's rig was saving temporary excel files into the same directory as the real thing through auto save. Eventually after not shutting down the document properly Excel got mad and tried to reference a temp file that no longer is linked to the sheet the user was using. By changing the location of all these temp files the user is able to open the document no problems.

Hope it's helpful.

 Hello!

Have you tried a manual repair within Excel?

To manually repair a file

On the File menu, click Open.   In the Open dialog box, select the file you want to open, and click the arrow next to the Open button.  Click Open and Repair, and then choose which method you want to use to recover your workbook.

also you can read comments on forum if these steps are useless
