Accepting E-mail without a domain in Exchange 2007
I have a situation where e-mails need to be received that have a senders address that does not include a domain. For example the e-mail would show that it came from Bob. I know this is not a standard way of sending mail unfortunately the vender who produces these e-mails can not include a domain in these e-mails at this time. I have eliminated our spam filtering and antivirus software by disabling them. I have looked through the message tracking logs in Exchange, and do not see any of the messages. The server is running Exchange 2007 in Transport mode. It sits behind a WatchGuard firewall which is configured with a packet filter, and does not use SMTP proxy. Our security guys assure me it is not the firewall blocking these e-mails. These e-mails do have a static subject if this will help at all. I would appreciate any suggestions. This KB article can help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944302 Keep in mind, by doing this, you are telling the server that any email without domain is coming from domain you set in the configuration. Looking at email from client it may look like bob@defaultdomain.com which could be incorrect and replies will never go to bob. In your current situation I believe you are not able to reply anyway so it does not matter. Hope this helps.

I set the default domain for the receive connector, but the mail is still not coming through.
