I am wondering if there's any way to access a resource (Room or Equipment) mailbox from a handheld device (iPhone, Android, etc.). I only got as far as to see that there are ActiveSync settings associated with resource mailboxes which makes me think that may be there is a way. Any thoughts?

Since the account for resource mailbox is disabled, you cannot try to login that mailbox with ActiveSync. If you have any other question about these topic, please feel free to let me know.
