Accessing Exchange 2013 E-Mails From Outside Country
I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 running Microsoft Exchange 2013. Our e-mail account is using Microsoft Exchange. The server is in Singapore and my Boss is on business trip in Taiwan trying to receive his e-mails but it fails to send or receive any e-mails. Is there any way to send & receive e-mails using external sites or external IP address? I understand if using Office 365 should work but Microsoft Exchange is very complex.

You must publish your Exchange Server to the Internet.  That can be as simple as opening port 443 inbound in your firewall, giving the Exchange server a public IP address, assigning the hostnames owa.company.com and autodiscover.company.com to that IP address, and configuring your virtual directories and Outlook Anywhere for the external URLs.

Hi Starr,

As Ed mentioned, please make sure the Exchange Server has been published to the Internet.

Following articles for your reference:

Create a Receive connector to receive email from the Internet

If you have published the Exchange Server and all the settings configured well, please paste the details of DNR or error message (without sensitive information) when cannot send/receive email from outside for the further troubleshooting.

Thanks
