ActiveSync and Password Resets
Hi Everyone,
I'm sure this has been asked in the past so I do apologize for duplicating it but it’s rather difficult to put this into a search for me so I thought it best
to start this general discussing.
Anyway, I'm looking for a KB article or whitepaper that outlines what the difference between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 and more specifically how they handle password replication.
What I mean by this is when a users password changes on the AD side it does not prompt the user to enter a new password on a mobile device in an Exchange 2003 environment unless the Information Store service is restarted "at least not in ours" it simply locks
the user out after the companies password policy threashold has been reached for number of failed attempts. I'm told Exchange 2010 fixes this problem, but really just would like to see some literature to support that fact if such material
is out there.
Any guidance is appreciated
Thank you in advance
Michael

Exchange 2003 had limited support for active sync / mobile. Check this help file out:

and see if it answers your questions.Regards, Bill
