ActiveSync problems with 2007CAS
We're migrating from E2003 to E2007 and the first step I took was set up a new 2007 Client Access server. Seems to have gone ok. OWA works. But I can't connect with ActiveSync.
Whenever my mobile devices connect they have to re-enter their login credentials. They never get through even though I'm sure they use the right credentials. If they use those same credentials in OWA on the 2007 CAS they get through.
What am I missing here ? Is there an additional step involved for getting ASync to work ?
Greetings,
Richard

Hi Richard,
It would be better to see the errors by exporting the activesync log.

Logs tell me 2 things.
Users get 401 errors, so basically Unathorized error. Which seems obvious since the credentials keep on being asked.
And all the deviced connecting have a Policy Compliance Result = Unknown.
Could be they're being rejected based on the default policy.
Edit:
I RTFM'ed some more.
Users aren't enabled for ASync by default. And they need to be assigned a policy.
When I go into the Recipient configuration, look up a user and try to Enable/Dissable ASync, the option is greyed out, as is the properties button to assign a policy. It should be noted that thismailbox is still on a 2003 box.
But does this mean I can only use Async-2007 when the user's mailbox is on 2007 too ? So during the move from 2003 to 2007 I would need 2 ASync servers, and somehow users need to figure out which one to use based on what box their mailbox is on. I hope not
Edit2:
More RTFM

Seems to work now.

Hi,
Glad to see you have fixed the issue. Here is an error code list of EAS for your reference:
