Active Sync stopped for one BE server
I have a very strange issue that has just started. Little background:
1FE 2007 CAS server
3BE 2007 mailbox servers
2BE 2003 servers
Up until two days ago everything was working correctly. Nothing has been changed in our enviroment. But suddenly any user whose mailbox is homed on just one of the 2003 BE servers are unable to sync their phones. They can login via OWA
and use Outlook successfully. I have rebooted the server to no avail. It is reporting an issue that none of the fixes apply as nothing has changed. I did however just verify.
The error is: Permanent failure reported by policy group provider for 'CN=recipient policies,cn...' mad.exe error = 8007203a. taking provider offline.
I have seen many posts about this error message, but none of them fit our situation. If anyone can think of any reason why it is just this one BE server having this issue and what I can check, please please let me know.

I was able to finally fix this issue. The local certificate on the BE exch2003 server expired and did not renew. Once i renewed and restarted IIS it began working for activesync users again.
