I have a customer who has Active directory on Azure and additional DC on-premises and have renamed his DC name from domain.com to domain.local (They don't know it's a not supported practice to rename domain but did do it) and now they are having issues with DFS service, Directory services and DNS. 

They have told me that their clients have successfully taken the new DC name which is domain.local but the FQDN still points to the old domain.com.... 

I would like to know how to get around this issue and is it possible to fix it with the new Domain name? Is it possible to change the FQDN name to the new DC name for DC servers and clients

I am attaching a report file in a link that I have gathered from the PDC which has the FSMO roles.
