Add New CAS-HT Servers to existing Exchange 2007 Org?
What is the best way to install additional CAS-HT Servers in different domains but part of the same Exchange Org? We have started doing it and the new CAS-HT servers start to be used soon as the Exchange install is complete.

You can use the /DoNotStartTransport switch with setup.com to prevent the transport service from starting as soon as setup has finished.

Thank you Neil. Will that setting impact Forefront installation and Exchange Rollup installations?

Are you talking about to install Fore Front on same BOX where new HUB installed. You can install Fore FRont if installing on other server.

I can't see how it will affect the rollup installation if the rollup is put into the \updates folder, but I'm honestly not sure about the Forefront installation; logic says no but we're talking about software here! I think
you're going to have to test this to be 100% sure.

The rollups installed fine but ForeFront needs the Transport Service to be runnning or it will not install. Thank you for your help

OK, thanks for the feedback. I guess that makes sense based on the way that Forefront integrates with the Hub Transport role, but it's always best to test these things.Neil Hobson, Exchange MVP
