Adding additional SMTP email address
Hi all, Exchange 2010 SP2 UR2 We're to add an additional SMTP email address to what we already have, we know how to edit the Email Address Policy, but my question is, once we add the new SMTP email address and finish editing it, will it apply to all accounts or just newly created from that time forward? Or would there be an easier way to apply this via PowerShell? thanks, JamesJames Gonzales

No, it will not. You have two choices: 1. Add the addresses to accounts manually. 2. Add the address to your e-mail address policy, or create a new policy as is most appropriate for what you're trying to do, and then run Update-EmailAddressPolicy to update all recipients to which the policy applies. Don't forget to add the domain using New-AcceptedDomain in addition to the e-mail address policy. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, before updating the email address policy please create a new accepted domain for the new maildomain. After that the new email address policy will work. regards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com

Hi, when editing the email address policy then the e-mailaddresses for all recipients who accept the email address policy in order to generate the user e-mailaddress will be updated. Not only new accounts. regards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com
