Adding an Edge Server To An Existing Exhange Deployment
Due to problems with anti-virus choking our 'all in one' Exchange 2007 server, we are adding an Edge server. I've only found one article by Brien Posey concering adding an Edge server. Anyone know of any others? One question - we have three SMTP connectors to allow other internal servers to relay text alerts and emails through our Exchange server. From reading Brien's article, it would appear to me that I will loose those connectors. Anyone know if that is true?

edgesubscription will not change your existing connectors. It can add new ones if selected in the wizard. for mailtransport to function flawless it relies on connectors created during Exhange install, if you changed there's configuration it might break mailtransport between HUB and Edge

I see Lasse's response, so that part is covered... But regarding your request for documentation, the TechNet Library is a great place to go for info. Here's a link to get started with Edge Server information: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996562(EXCHG.80).aspx
