Adding another email smtp domain
Hi - I am currently running Exchange 2003 Server and will be creating a number of users on my Exchange server, however I will only be forward to their current email addresses. Would I need to create them as a user in order for them to receive and reply with the email address I am going to assign to them or can I just create them as a contact? I would like to just forward to their current email address instead of wasting space on my server for data storage. I am only running Exchange 2003 Server Standard edition and I don't want to use any data storage. Any help is appreciated? Thanks, Peggy

If you are just going to forward to another mailbox outside of Exchange, then a contact is that is required. Whether they can reply as that email address will very much depend on a number of factors, including whether they are sending through your server, you have SPF records configured etc. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
