Address Book
We have exchange 2007 sp1 infrastructure. how do i import GAL of our parent company into our exchange servers, so our users can search for it.Exchange infrastructure of my company & parent company is completely isolated. both are totally different domain with no trust & connectivity at all.can some one tell me, how do i have GAL list of parent company into my Exchange server. My parent company is having around 100,000+ users listed into their GAL. do i need to plan for any upgrade into my server's resources? my existing servers are just enough to handle my existing requirements.thanks, raj

Hey Raj,If you don't have any connectivity then you may need to follow manual path to export the GAL of parent company and create contacts with that information into your Exchange 2007 infrastructure. How to export GAL (Global Address List)http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555397Exchange Server 2007 Recipient Management One-Liners Part 2 (<- Check Mail Contact Bulk Management to create contacts based on CSV file information)http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/09/18/428950.aspxBut this will be one time operation so your org doesn't have any updated information of recipients about your parent company and for that you need tosync address books of two different Exchange organization with some tools. You can use IIFP of MIIS orILM 2007 Feature Pack 1 tools available with Microsoft or need to go for third-party product likeQuest(Quest product is really impressive)... But this requires acontinuesconnectivity between two domains.GAL Sync with the Identity Integration Feature Pack (IIFP)http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/GAL-Sync-Identity-Integration-Feature-Pack-IIFP.htmlAmit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
