Address Lists based on OU or group membership?
When setting up address lists it seems only to be possible to set them based on Company, Department etc, but not OU or Group membership! Is this the case or am I being daft? Also, is it possible to set it so the default address list show to users is one other than the GAL?Alex

There isn't any direct way tofetchusers from OU in Address List because there isn't any AD attributed which can be filtered to get all users from an OU with -RecipientFilter while creating address list. Alternatively if you have a group which contain all users from an OU as members then you can create an address list based on OU membership... $groupidentity = $(Get-DistributionGroup OUGroup).Identity.DistinguishedName Set-AddressList TestOUAL -RecipientFilter "MemberOfGroup -eq '$groupidentity'"Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Cheers Amit, that's perfect.Any thoughts on my second question? Now I have my address list is it possible to make that address list the default view when they get into the Select Names dialog box rather than the GAL?

Great! I think it is not possible to select the new address list by default in dialog box. You may need to configure virtual segregation but in that case Default GAL doesn't show at all after configuring permission on ALs...
