Address book not updating on Outlook clients
Hello,
How can I fix such issue as I am adding new users with mailboxes however for the last couple of weeks the clients have not received the address book update/changes.
Is there a way I can troubleshoot this or maybe delete the default address book and re-create it. Exchange is 2010.
From the OWA I can see the full updated address book.
Thanks

Sounds like an issues with the Offline Address Book. Can you post the following five things:
1) Get-OABVirtualDirectory | fl
2) Crtl-rightclick the outlook icon in your system tray, select Test Email AutoConfiguration, uncheck the two Guessmart box and post the results.
3) Verify that Web Distribution is enabled for the OAB (Organization -> Mailbox node) and make sure your CAS server is listed as a distribution point
4) Do you have redirection set on the Default Web Site? If so, can you double check the redirection settings on the OAB virtual directory?
5) What errors are you getting in the Sync Issues folder in Outlook?Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

If you download the full oab from Outlook, do you see the new users then?
With such issues I usually start verbose logging for MSExchangeSA\OAL Generator and update the OAB and check in event viewer for errors
Here's a link how to do it

Sounds like you OAB generation is still being done on the old server. Move the OAB generations to the Exch 2010 server by following:

Then configure for Web distribution:

depends on how large your OAB is. You can check the Sync Issues folder within Outlook to see if there are any issues downloading the OAB. You can also check the application event logs on the generation server for the OAB to see if there are
any issues.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

When updating you can also check that it really get's update, check for date/time
Goto the folder, by default it is ; C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OAB
You can check in IIS which folders it's pointing toJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog:

In fact I found out the only the "old" Outlook which were previously connected to the old Exchange Server are having the issue, new Outlook setups are getting the full GAL.
Also on the "old" Outlook the new users are appearing in the All Users list in the address book instead of in the GAL. What is the difference between these 2 lists please ?
