Hi everybody !I'm experimenting a new messaging architecture we might consider deploying accross our company. Basically, I would like messages sent to people in our organization to addresses like "john.doe@acme.com" to be rerouted to a more local address using a subdomain server like "doej@paris.acme.com".The trick is, messages sent to addresses like "john.doe@acme.com" should trigger an LDAP query to retrieve the local "doej@paris.acme.com" address, and use it as a replacement.It must be considered that only some subdomains like "paris.acme.com" will be using MS-Windows 2003 with Exchange 2007, and that the global organization LDAP directory will be run by an OpenLDAP server. Also, as this is just an experimenting phase, we will not bother with namesake cases within the organization.From the information I gathered on Exchange 2007, here are my conclusions so far.1) As only some subdomains will be running MS solutions, Active Directory routing is out of the question.2) As we want to rely on an LDAP Directory, the address rewriting features provided by an Edge server seem too restricted.So, it appears to be that I'm only left with the possibility of programming an event sink. But according to what I have read on several blogs and support pages, the event sink architecture in Exchange 2007 has dramatically evolved since Exchange 2003.I have tried to reuse samples of VBSript code provided to add disclaimers to messages sent by an Exchange 2003 server - I hoped I would just have to add the LDAP query. But I have'nt even been able to register the code sample on the Exchange 2007 server. I must admit my programming skills have pretty much diminished since I hardly ever get to practice.Would anyone have some advice on how to implement this solution ? Am I right to think that an Edge server has no use in this type of architecture ?I would be grateful for any hint.Regards,David.
