Admin has made changes

Hi!

How can we check which exchange server account is showing up "Microsoft Exchange Administrator has made changes" message if multiple exchange server accounts are configured in outlook?

Thanks.

Hi

It depends on which outlook profile you are choosing while launching outlook.

When you configure an outlook profile and launch outlook (prompt for a profile to be used or choose a profile) it connects to the appropriate Exchange CAS server associated with that profile and authenticates. So based on that you can identify which server gave you that message.

It is only one profile under which multiple exchange accounts are configured.

Thanks.

Hi,

Does the multiple accounts connect to the same exchange server?

First of all, there could be multiple reasons for this error message. Some of them are listed below for reference:

  1. Mailbox was moved (could be users mailbox or a shared mailbox in the users Outlook profile)
  2. Users mailbox server name changed. This could be user's mailbox server or the server name of a shared mailbox in users profile (e.g. modified homeMDB and/or msExchHomeServerName of mailbox to point to a DR server).
  3. Users public folder server was changed (public folder server changed in Mailbox Store properties).
  4. The users Exchange database has been replaced with a clean database (dial-tone DB). The users will be prompted to restart. When they attempt to login, they will receive a notification that they are running in Recovery Mode.
  5. Any add-ins (specifically live meeting add-in)

So if these accounts connect to the same exchange server, and administrator made some change (like condition 2 , 3 and 4) on server side. Then this error will show up on all account. If these accounts connect to different exchange server, there is a little complicated to checking which exchange server account is showing up this error. We could need to create these accounts in different outlook profile to check.

Best Regards.
