Allowing a single external ip address to anonymously relay to exchange 2007 sp1
I'm having a bit of difficulty in getting this to work.. I followed the instructions on this page for setting up a new receive connector to allow a single external email address to use our mx record to relay (wan1.domain.com): http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232021(EXCHG.80).aspx I setup the connector.. Under network, top box for use these local ip addresses is just set to any bound on the machine.. Bottom one.. receive mail from remote servers with these ips: 71.x.x.x (a comcast ip address attached to my remote cable modem) Nothing is checked under authentication. Permissions groups i just have anonymous users.. I then ran the shell command to set the anonymous binding. The only thing that may be complicating this, is that we have a sonicwall email security device at 192.168.100.5 (all mail gets routed through there and acts as an mta).. our mx record still points at our external ip on our domain essentially though.. i just point exchange to the spam box as well.. (IE: send connector 192.168.100.5 the spam box is set as a smart host) I'm not sure what i'm missing here, but i still cant send email from offsite from this one ip address, using wan1.domain.com for the smtp server.. Any thoughts?

Hi, I suggest that you enable the protocol log on the receive connector and reproduce the issue. Please post the related log information here. Please also run following command: Get-receiveconnector connector name | get-adpermission |fl user, extendedrights From the output, please ensure that the Anonymous Logon user has ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient permission.
