I just read today that since last September, Microsoft published the order of a few Forefront products, including TMG. Which can no longer be purchased, even if they will serve the same until 2020 for those who have it.

To date, there was always integrated publishing the OWA with ISA or TMG. I see the OWA publishing can also be carried out with UAG, but of course, this product is much more expensive, and buy only for this is an outrage.

Know of alternative methods and if possible supported by Microsoft for publishing OWA, ActiveSync and Anywhere, as to TMG?

You may find appliance manufacturers who still sell TMG based solutions (Celestix MSA comes to mind but there are others) as it is possible that they would have pre-purchased a number of licenses.

Another option is to use a solution running on a load balancer appliance from vendors like Kemp or Big-IP (F5) that offer similar features to TMG or at least give you the option to securely reverse proxy web client access.

What MS recommends these days is that it is ok to have the traffic coming in directly to your CAS servers, via a firewall NAT. MS is doing it this way and it is supported.

If you want pre-auth, then look into some appliance which can do that - maybe a  load balancer which has a pre-auth module  (like Kemp).
