An elephant's memory?
Hello Office 365 experts,

I have a Power Query in Excel that connects to a data source.

I need to have the credentials to that source changed, however Excel seems to remember the older username/password, and does not prompt me any more for them, nor allows me to change them.

Does anyone know where I can change them, or how to clear Excel's memory?
Thanks

Hi 3ebs,

Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.

This forum is for devleopers discussing developing issues about Excel applcation. Since the issue is more relative to end-user, I would like to move it to Excel IT pro discussions forum.

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards & Fei

Hi,

Please follow these steps to modify/clean the credentials:

  • In the Power Query ribbon, in Settings, select Data Source Settings.
  • In the Data Source Settings dialog box, select a data source and select Edit.

  • In the new Data Source Settings dialog that appears, under Credentials, select Edit.

  • Select the credential type from the options on the left, and if necessary, provide the Username and Password (or other appropriate information) for the data connection.
