Another OOF issue ----- Ex 2007
Hi Team
Am facing another type of OOF issue for the users. The Problem is, One user named user1 had set up an out of office on outlook 2010 and he is member of one DDL (Dynamic Distribution List) when ever the other users sends an email to the DDL. The Other users
are not getting the OOF reply form the user called user1. When the other user send an email to particular individual user(user1) . he gets an OOF messgae.
The is issue is happening for Universal distribution List or Group. I checked in the user properties in EMC and advanced and tick "Send the Out of Office message to the orginator" . still the issue is presist.
Why the other users are not getting the OOF message while send the email to Groups like DDL or Universal Distribution LIST?
Please help and thanks in advance.

Im not sure I understand, when you check that box, only the sender of the message will get an OOF. It sounds as if its working as designed.

My query is that " Will the OOF messge will not work if the sender send en email to the Distribution List or not? is that by deisgined.

By default, the OOF message will not be sent if you send to a distribution list.
If you check that box, the sender will recieve any OOFs from mailboxes that have it set.

Ok Thanks Andy.
I check that box in the Distribution LIST . will the sender receive OOF message or not if one the members has set a OOF in the Universal Distribution List? or DDL?

OOFs are only set on mailboxes. If you check that box, the sender should get an OOF only from those mailboxes that have OOF enabled.

Oh..so i have done a mistake to check the box ind Distribustion list? or not?
so by design . Sender will not receive any OOF message if he sends to DDL or DL?

By default, that option is not checked because if the list is large, the sender may be bombarded by alot of OOF messages. I prefer to leave it unchecked.

Hi Allen
I going to create one DL now, and setup the OOF for the one of the members in DL. and check the option "Send Out-of-Office message
to originator" under the DL properties in EMC
and let you know result as soon. whether the sender received the OOF message or not....

Hi,
It's weird. It's working fine on my different labs. How many Domain Controllers are there in your environment? Please ensure the configuration is replicated without issue.
Thanks
