Application send out garbled subject after migrate from 2003 to 2007
We want to phase out the Exchange 2003 but some application still point that as a SMTP relay, Once we change application to Exchagne 2007 , application sent the garbled subject if that is not English. Suppose the subject line is Japanese or Chinese
I read this article
http://blogs.technet.com/b/stuartp/archive/2009/02/17/subjects-appearing-garbled-or-corrupted-when-they-are-encoded.aspx
The subject char is more than 255 but even we tried to send out the subject is smaller, still have this issue
In the header, I saw it is try to encode with UTF-8
=?utf-8?Q?=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx?=
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
Any ideas?
Is the client side (application issue) or the server doesnt decode correctly?
I cannot see the correct subject in OWA/Outlook 2003/2007), so I dont think this is the outlook client issue.
Thanks

I am trying to write a vbscript to replicate the error, it doesnt, but if I use powershell It didnt.
I chekced it use 7bit to encoding, But I am thinking? Is the client said which way to encode or server make the decision?

Is those setting related server locate? But I had compare the Region and Setting between the old Exchange 2003 and new Exchange 2007. Any ideas?
