Apps for Office, Outlook 2013 Button

Hi I'm totally stuck on being able to successfully gray-out the Apps for Office button within Outlook 2013.  Can this be done?  Any experience or advice for this would be very appreciated.  The button is located on the upper-right when creating a new message.  So far we've enabled "Block Apps for Office" and "Block the Office Store" within a GPO,  but users still see it, can click on it and can manage their apps.  Has anyone had any luck with this or perhaps this is done on the Server, becuase currently it's taking us to OWA where we have the option to disable things like Bing Maps etc...

It's just very difficult to find any dicumentation on this.  Thanks.

I have Apps for Office button in Word, but not in Outlook 2013.

About the GPO "Block Apps for Office" and "Block the Office Store", the path should be:

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office 2013\Security Settings\Trust Center\Trusted Catalogs

If you need to disable it, make sure you selected "Enabled", not "Disabled". People may be confused by this sometimes.

If you enable this policy setting, apps are blocked and all other policy settings in the Trusted Catalogs folder are ignored.

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, apps are allowed. Other policy settings in the Trusted Catalogs folder determine which specific app sources are allowed.

So I've been setting the GPO to enabled, good reminder though on paying attention to the exact syntax MS uses.  But still no luck, I have the button in Outlook.  Frustrating.  Was the Apps for Office button configured in the OCT somewhere I'm not seeing?

I have that option grayed out in my deployment but I don't remember how to do it. I did find this though in technet. try it and let me know if that is the option you needed:

To prevent users from downloading apps for Outlook from the Office Store, remove the My marketplace apps user role from the user policy in the Exchange Administration Center (EAC). To do this,

  1. In EAC, select Permissions > User roles.

  2. Select the policy and Edit.

  3. Under Other roles, clear the My marketplace apps check box.

  4. Select Save.
