Archive *ALL* exchange mail via Outlook

I'm trying to help a friend of mine make a full copy of his email.  His email dates back to 2009 & is current.  When I created a PST, the archive was missing data which was still on exchange.

How can I download all data from exchange to outlook - so I can create a full archive for him?

Said differently, how can I force all data resident on exchange to be downloaded to Outlook?

Did you try using Export instead of Archive?

Hi Todd,

Please try to export your data into a .pst file as suggested by Diane. Take Outlook 2013 as an example here, you can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Go to FILE-> Open & Export-> Import/Export
  2. Choose "Export to a file", press "Next"
  3. Choose "Personal Folder File (.pst)", press "Next"
  4. Select the folder that you'd like to export, tick the check box of "Include subfolders", press "Next"
  5. Set the file location, then press "Finish"
  6. To export the more folders as well, repeat steps above.

In order to ensure you're getting all emails available on Exchange Server, disable Cached Mode in Outlook account's settings. After that you'll get all emails (slower accessed though) and will be able to export them to PST. To export with convenience, you can use the free Export Outlook Items to PST File ut
