Attachment size exceeds the allowable limit

Hi,

i really dont know hot to solve this.

I'm using Outlook 2010 with Exchange Server 2007. But i can't attach files bigger than 10MB (mutiple files each ~2MB) to a mail.

  • Exchange Transportsettings maximum send- and recievesize deactivated
  • Maximum messagesize from sendconnectors deactivated
  • Maximum messagesize of each mailbox deactivated

If i look in the shell for transportsettings it tells me:

  • MaxRecieveSize : unlimited
  • MaxSendSize : unlimited

Why is it that i still cant send or recieve messages bigger than 10MB?

Anyone got an idea? Thank you for every tip.

Hi,

After changing the settings, have you also restarted the transport service?

Hello!

Maybe there is a Message Size Restriction on the individual Mailbox

just did

  • restart-service msexchangetransport

in the Shell. Service was successfully restartet. Still can't send bigger files.

The Warning/Error message pops up when im attaching the files, not when i'm trying to send.

Could you show us a screenshot, please?
Are you connected via mapi? Outlook connection status shows TCP?
Are you able to attach files by using OWA?

And at the end, check please a registry on local computer

ok thank you.

followed the instructions and found <httpRuntime maxRequestLength=10240 />   in the webconfig. i changed the value and also ran the commands to change the maxAllowedContentLength

unfortunately i'm not able to restart the server right now to apply the changes. But i'll do so as soon as i can. I hope this resolves the issue.

thanks for the link
