Attachments in Outlook 2007 dissapear after succesfully recieiving them?
Hello all,
I work desktop support for a certain company and usually come across all sorts of application errors regariding microsoft office and outlook. I'm finally stumped on one and after browsing the interwebs for awhile have found no rhyme or reason that this particular
issue would occur. So I am asking for help.
The problem is this:
I have a user who claims she was sent an email back in like February that had several attachments (two excel spreadsheets and an older email) attached. She went back to look at the attachments only to find that they were gone. Just not in the email anymore.
She also claimed this happened more than once. So I remoted into her machine and found that alot of older emails still had there attachments but this one in particular did not. I also sent her an email with a blank excel sheet and an older email attached.
She recieved them just fine, I then deleted the attachments from my end to see if it would remove from hers and it didn't. So that ruled out the one theory I had.
I honestly don't believe its a corrupted ost file because her ost file is still pretty small..less than 100mb at this point.
Can anyone think of any other reason this would happen? I've also check her email settings, but can't think of a setting in particular that would cause this.
Any help on this would be appreciated, thanks!

Maybe she accidently deleted the attachments herself.

Unless the attachments are virus-affected, it could be deleted automatically by your anti-virus application. You can verify the client log files to
make a confirm.
There is nothing we can do to monitor or prevent it happens again. The deleted attachments might be recovered from the temp folder (dependent), or
you may recover the user mailbox from your backup in February. For more information, see Microsoft articles below:
