Auditing message access?
A few customers have expressed interest in auditing access to messages. Examples: 1) Administrator/supervisor wants to see whether a user has read/opened a given message. 2) Sender wants to determine whether an (Exchange - not SMTP) recipient has received/opened/deleted/forwarded a message. 3) Administrator wants to see which user(s) have viewed messages within a shared mailbox 4) Administrators want to see what other admins have done with a particular message (viewed/deleted/etc.) Goals are primarily management and workflow monitoring, but there are some compliance/privacy aspects as well. I've seen similar features in other groupware products such as GroupWise and FirstClass (actually, that is commonly a driver - customers that have moved from those products and are looking for similar functionality within Exchange.) Is this something that can be enabled within Exchange? (Assume 2003 or 2007) Are there tools that can make this easier to view/manage/report? Thanks, - John Chapman

We have had the same type of requests for email workflow. Exhcange really does not have what you need so we went with a product called Response Manger from Emailtopia. We have been using it for 4 years now but we have exceeded its capacity with the amount of users. We are now looking at the following company to handle our email work flows: http://www.inin.com/ProductSolutions/Pages/Customer-Interaction-Center.aspx It can handle the requests you have and a lot more.
