Authentication troubleshooting with Exchange?
Hi,
I have a couple of odd issues happening on my network and I can't figure out how to go about troubleshooting or correcting them.
Here is where I'm at:
Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain.
Windows 7 Pro Computer.
Office 2010.
Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2008 Server.
User in question has a different email address than user name.
When she launches Outlook shes prompted for username/password and nothing works.
Everything seems to work with Outlook except the Out of Office Assistant and it keeps prompting her to login.
This does not happen if she logs into a Windows XP computer running Office 2010.
Clearly there is some kind of Exchange authentication issue but I cant figure out what to do about it.
What Im wondering here is how can I troubleshoot authentication problems, is there some utility that will show me the authentication traffic between the computer,
the domain controller, Outlook and Exchange?
I really dont know what else to do at this point, Im stumped.

That's what I originally thought also but I struck out there so I thought I'd try here.
Looking at the article you suggested I checked LAN Manager authentication on my servers and workstation and here's what I found:
Domain Controller Local Policy - Network Security: LAN Manager authentication Level is not configured.
Default Domain controller Policy - Network Security: LAN Manager authentication Level is not configured.
Computer Group Policy for Windows 7 workstation - Network Security: LAN Manager authentication Level is not configured.
Exchange Server Local Policy - Network Security: LAN Manager authentication Level is not configured.
Exchange Server GP Policy - Network Security: LAN Manager authentication Level is set to "Send NTLMv2 responses only".
I'm guessing this could be my problem but I'm not sure yet. I'll research but any thoughts?
