Auto Accept Meeting Requests from External Users for Room Mailbox
I know there are a couple threads on here with similar questions but none of them are exactly what I'm experiencing so I wanted to get a fresh answer. When users here get a meeting request from an external user and then forward that request and only send it to a room mailbox, the meeting gets scheduled tentatively but never gets accepted. If I do the same test internally, send a meeting request but don't put a resource on it then forward it to a room resource, it gets scheduled and auto accepted. Is the meeting not getting auto accepted the designed behavior? Other threads I've looked at all mention that if the meeting organizer isn't in the GAL then the meeting gets declined and immediately trashed so I thought it was strange that the meeting does get scheduled just never accepted. I can actually go to the calender of the room resource and accept the meeting and an Accepted email will go to the external organizer. I have tried setting the ProcessExternalMeetingMessages on the room resource but it didn't help. We have an Exchange 2007 environment with Outlook 2007 clients. Thanks for any and all help

Hi, The behavior is expected after enable ProcessExternalMeetingMessages. To make it owrk, you need to create a external contact for the external sender or like the mailbox. Please take a try and let me know if this works. thanks. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
