My exchange server name is EX2013.mycompany.com and all URS are mail.mycompany.com
What should be the autodiscover record, should it be mail.mycompany.com or EX2013.mycompany.com?
i have created a host record mail.mycompany.com and created CNAME autodiscover pointing to mail.mycompany.com
Am i going the right way?
Hi Quiett,
If you have already created A mail.externaldomain.com in your DNS server, create one more A record autodiscover.externaldomain.com.
You should have autodiscover.externaldomain.com and mail.externaldomain.com SANs in your certificate.
I hope you have configured your URLs in Exchange.
http://www.mustbegeek.com/configure-external-and-internal-url-in-exchange-2013/
That's it.
At the ISP I have A record and autodiscover record set to mail.mycompany.com
and i have 3 san certificates from verisign mail.mycompany.com, autodiscover.mycompany.com, legacy.mycompany.com
and internally i have A record set for EX2013.mycompany.com, mail.mycompany.com and CNAME record autodiscover pointing to mail.mycompany.com
My Exchange Server name is EX2013 and do i need any host record for my server name at the ISP.
Hi Quiett,
autodiscover goes together with your mail domain, so if you had user@mycompany.com you need to create an autodiscover for mycompany.com ; it does not depend on your server url, if that does not match your mail domain.
You can create a record autodiscover like that
https://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/bb332063%28exchg.80%29.aspx
http://blogs.technet.com/b/rmilne/archive/2014/10/02/how-to-check-exchange-autodiscover-srv-record-using-nslookup.aspx
Let me know if it worked.
Regards,
Martin
I am a new to Exchange . I have installed Exchange 2013 CU7, i have configured all the external and internal URLs,
My exchange server name is EX2013.mycompany.com and all URS are mail.mycompany.com
What should be the autodiscover record, should it be mail.mycompany.com or EX2013.mycompany.com?
i have created a host record mail.mycompany.com and created CNAME autodiscover pointing to mail.mycompany.com

It should be https://mail.domain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
C:\>nslookup -q=srv _autodiscover._tcp.mycompany.com
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
Server: UnKnown
Address: ::1
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
_autodiscover._tcp.mycompany.com SRV service location:
priority = 0
weight = 0
port = 443
svr hostname = autodiscover.mycompany.com
Now my confusion for the records at isp
What host record should i have at ISP (EX2013.mycompany.com or mail.mycompany.com)(My urls and Exchange Certificate are with mail) and exchange server name is EX2013

SPF is for Mai
Thanks alot for all the support
One final question , autodiscover record should be Host record or CNAME record.
Even CNAME should not be a issue
