Autodiscover and Availability services for Outlook Anywhere
I'm a student currently taking Microsoft Exchange 2007. In my lab book it wants me to run the command in the Exchange Management Shell
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity 'StudentXX-A' -ExternalHostname 'StudentXX-A.StudentXX.com'
The XX represents my initials (JM). This lab book is for Exchange 2007 using Windows Server 2003. I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 in a vm. I have two other servers set up with one of them being my edge server. When I run the command I get an error
stating that StudentJM-A could not be found on the domain controller. I have set up http on both my A and B server for internal and external requests. I'm stumped on this one. Can you give me any pointers on how to fix this problem?

Well. This forum is named "Configuration Manager Setup/Deployment". I'm moving this thread to an Exchange forum.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Hi utickite,
About how to use the set-outlookanywhere, please refer to below formation:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123545%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx
And for the identity parameter, it specifies the name or GUID of the virtual directory. It is represented as: ServerName\VirtualDirectoryName (WebsiteName).
So, if the lab book write linke you referred, I would not suggest that you follow it, please check the information on the MS technet library website.
Regards!
