Autodiscover taking 30 seconds

Hi All,

We have recently migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. All has gone fine and everything is working ok except when clients open outlook they cannot immediately access Automatic Replies under the file tab. If we wait roughly 30 seconds we are then able to access this feature. I have double checked my auto discover configuration and it all looks fine. I has to be working ok because as i said after 30 seconds it starts working fine.

Is this some issue with the outlook 2010 client or exchange 2013?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Does the issue happen to all users moved to Exchange 2013?

Please restart IIS service in Exchange server by running IISReset from a Command Prompt window to have a try. In Exchange server, please check whether there is any warning or error which is related to Availability service or Exchange Web Service in Event Viewer.

In client side, please turn on and turn off Exchange Cached mode to check whether the issue persists.

On the client side, you can run Fiddler, configure it to decrypt SSL (Fiddler Options->Decrypt HTTPS traffic). Start Fiddler, then immediately start Outlook, and try accessing the Automatic Replies. This feature uses EWS, that's normally provided by Autodiscover. Take a look in Fiddler and check which URL takes a longer time or fails - this will indicate your problem.

Hi Rob ,

In addition to the below suggestions ,please have a look in to this too .

1.For the checking purpose ,On the problematic PC please disable the proxy settings on the internet explorer and check the user can able to access the automatic replies immediately.

2.Another workaround is to add the internal outlook anywhere name and autodiscover name on the internet explorer proxy exceptions so that if the client queries those namespaces it will not the hit the proxy server if you have in your environment.

3.Is this issue is happening for all the users ?

4.Have you disabled the antivirus on the client pc and check the results ?

5.Please run the outlook on the safe mode and check the results .

6.For a checking purpose you can also disable the outlook add ins and check the results .

7.Please have the outlook client in online mode and check the results .
