Automate slipstream updates for Office setup

Hi. my question is for Office 2010\2013 setup

I always use the Updates folder to get the latest updates before installing office

but it still a very manual job. going to the microsoft update catalog website, download the office updates that are newer than what I have for each product (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint...), extract the files to get the MSP file and copy or overwrite the files to the Updates folder...

I was wondering if there's a switch, powershell script or even a 3rd party tool that can do this job for me?
In Office 365 ProPlus i know that when I download a package I always get the most updated package automatically, which is great! I'm looking for something similar for Office 2013\2010 installation

that will check online updates, match it with my current update folder and download, extract and copy the latest updates to my installation source.

Hi Tamir,

As far as I know, for MSI-based Office edition, we can not accomplish this whole process with any built-in options/configuration settings.

I'm not sure if this is achievable via any scripts, you might want to have a try in our dedicated scripting forum - Script Center and see if anyone can provide a scripted solution.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Ethan

thanks for your answer

I think it's a must feature for organizations who use SCCM \ OSD Deployment with Office

the second best thing I expect from Microsoft is to provide a download location for all the latest updates for the updates folder.

because otherwise, in order to keep my installation source up-to-date, I must download and replace files very often.

in Windows they already solved it with the Schedule Updates feature
