Automatically changing email addresses based on recipient policies
Exchange 2003: I have a number of recipient policies that set email addresses based on company name, andin AD, I have the box checked to update email addresses based on recipient policy. The default policy has all possible smtp addresses, and the individual company policies list only the smtp address for that company. When a user is created, the account receives all email addresses. If I manually apply the policy for that company, the user account will reset the primary SMTP address to the one for that company, but all the other SMTP addresses don't get deleted. How do I get the recipient update policy to delete whatever addresses were there prior to being run? Also, if a user moves from one company to another, our help desk will go into the AD account and update the company name. I've set Mailbox Management Process to run daily at 6, so I thought the user's email addresses would be updated at 6. They're not. Am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't all the recipient policies be run at 6 every day?

Leif, Thanks for the information. That explains why the SMTP addresses aren't being removed, but do you know why the policies aren't being applied on a scheduled basis? I have to manually run the recipient policy. Do you have how to apply the plocies on a daily basis?
