Hi I'm running Exchange 2007 SP2 on Windows 2008 Server. We are using a third party, non-MS, backup solution. We are using SCC, in Active/Active/Passive. On one of my mailbox servers, users are complaining when the backups are running. I can see high RPC Latency/RPC requests on the server during these times. When the backup is not running, it's ok. Is this to be expected? Is there anythig I can do to 'fine tune' this to prevent this occuring?

Just to be clear, you are running backups during production hours, or are you a 24/7 shop? Backups will place load on the storage because of what they are doing. Hi Redman20111, Please run Exbpa for your Exchange Server, this will help you troubleshoot the problem. If you do not get any error, this may just as Simon said, you storage is poorly configured. I suggest you do backup when less user try to access the Exchange Server. If you get any error, please paste the result in your next post.
