We have 28 computers using office 2013. After latest update (15.0.4745.1002) excel is very very very slow when filtering. In Excel lower bar it is written "Calculating 4 processors 0%". Users without latest office 2013 update or with office 2010 / 2007 are working without any problems.

I even made a test: computer without latest update was tested and it was OK. I made the update and an d the problem appeared.

Unfortunately system restore is not correcting the issue as it doesn't revert to previous version of office.

Anyone with same problems? Any suggestions?

Thanks for your posting, I have tested with my local environment (Windows 10 & Excel 2013 15.0.4745.1002), but did not reproduce this issue. We also have not received the similar issue on our forum yet. Thus, I can't confirm this issue if is really related to updates.

I recommend you try to remove the update to test:

MS15-081: Description of the security update for Excel 2013: August 11, 2015

Then, we can check the event log to check if there was any error message logged when you perform the filter.

We also have the same issue on multiple Windows 7 computers after updating in Aug 2015. The only way we can fix the issue is to do a system restore to before the Windows updates were installed.

• Windows operation system
• Office installation methodMSI or C2R.
• The operation that caused this issue(Such as filter and so on).

We'll re-build the environment to test and submit this issue with internal channel.

We have found that removing the CONCATENATE function or switching Calculate Options to Manual fixes the issue with (15.0.4745.1002). This is not a solution but it might help someone in a pinch. 

We are disabling automatic updates on our Excel user computers until Microsoft releases a fix. On the computers that already have the bad update we are installing an older version of Excel or we are using the above temporary fix. 

• Windows operation system: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and 32 bit
• Office installation methodoffice.com/setup with standard Windows updates to Excel (15.0.4745.1002)
  
• The operation that caused this issue: using filters on worksheet with 60,000 rows and about 45 columns. However, the use of the CONCATENATE function or "&" function seems to cause the issue for us. Could be an issue with other functions but removing those functions seem to solve the issue with filtering. We have verified this issue on about 8 computers most are HP's but three are custom built PC's.
