Best way for sharing contacts
Hi, We have Exchange 2007 with Outlook 2010. I am looking for a way that users can share a public contact list. I'd like the public list so that it could be broken down by catagories. Though that could be accomplished by groups. I want the end users to be able to be able to edit the public contacts and create new ones and add them to the groups or catagories, through outlook. They also need to be able to access the list through outlook. We are currently creating shared contacts a email enabled entires in the GAL, but this has become slow due to the number of changes that need to happen. Ideally I'd like to enable end users to be able to make these changes themselves. Thanks!

Consider using Public Folders, I did it many times and usuability of this solution is quite good. Using PF enables you to grant permissions to usersWith kind regards Krystian Zieja http://www.projectnenvision.com Follow me on twitter My Blog

It is an option, but with the emphisis on public folders being removed eventually by MS we've intentionally been staying away from them, even though they are not leaving anytime soon. In fact we moved the calendars from public folders to sharepoint (due to the web interface which is liked better) and eliminated the usage of PF at this point. Sharepoint is not on option for contacts unless there is a seemless way to access it in Outlook when composing an email.

1. I would go for PF, they aren't disappearing just yet. 2. Seems possible with SP - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-foundation-help/synchronize-sharepoint-2010-content-with-outlook-2010-HA101881295.aspx 3. I would post in SP forum too to get a definitve answerSukh

Well PF are not disappearing (anytime soon) it doesn't make sense to intoduce new usage into them when we have already phased them out. I didn't know the SP could do the contacts like that. That seems to do what we want it to. I'll dig into how to get that setup. Thanks for the link.
