Blank Email body iphone and OWA
We have exchange 2003 SP2. for the most part it works fine. On certain occasions I have seen where I cannot see the email message body using OWA, but it will work later. Another user is currently reporting that he cannot see email message bodies in his iphone. It was working fine a few days ago, this happened so I deleted the inbox and reset it and it worked fine. However yesterday it went out again and we cannot seem to get it functioning again.

I assume this is in Safari? Do you have a desktop computer (maybe a Mac?) that you can try it with, and compare the dislpay?Outlook Web Access For PDA , OWA For WAP www.owa-pda.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m

On his Iphone he is connecting using their mail app and active sync. The times when it has happened to me has been in Internet explorer. I have asked him to try to connect to OWA using the browser on his iphone. It is a very weird problem because it is random, which always makes things more difficult. Can user access licenses affect exchange server mobile or owa connections?

It shouldn't affect it in this way (i.e. having it nearly completely working). I've never heard of Exchange doing any kind of licence check on the client.Outlook Web Access For PDA , OWA For WAP www.owa-pda.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m

Any thoughts on what kinds of things might affect this communication? I tried to reset the exchange virtual directories as described by microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883380 however it did not recreate the directories no matter how long i waited or restarted so I had to restore them. The randomness is frustrating. Maybe there is a tool to try to track this users login for an error?

If your directories didn't get created, make sure that the MSExchangeMU process is running on the server (or it may be listed as DS2MB - two different names for the same thing). If it is, then check the Event Logs for anything related to these. I'm not sure that problems with this Metabase Update process will cause what you're seeing, though. You might try ISINTEG (when things are quiet there), but I think that if you had actual mailbox corruption, you'd notice it elsewhere. Since this is happening in OWA, which is an IIS application, you could check the IIS logs for errors (any entry not having a status near the end of the logged line that doesn't begin with a 2 or a 3, i.e. 401 404 500 etc.). And you can always check the Event Logs.Outlook Web Access For PDA , OWA For WAP www.owa-pda.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m

Thank you lee for your help. In the end the user ended up restarting his iphone and that seemed to solve the problem for now. All of the statuses were 200 so I was very confused by the problem. I am still not positive why it is occurring, but if it comes up again I will play with ISINTEG
