Bogus email address added
We have something very strange happening and I'm hoping someone has seen this. We are in the process of moving users over to an exchange 2007 cluster. Some of the old users were on a sendmail system, and listed as contacts in AD. Here's the process, the contact is deleted and then a user account is created. The email is pulled off the sendmail server and uploaded to their new account. On some users a "1" is being appended to the users' email address. For example, joesample@smaple.com was the person's email address, when someone tries to send that person an email they get as bounce back saying the message cannot be delivered to joesample1@sample.com. My only guess is that we are not waiting enough time for the contact deletion to propagate and when the user is created it is adding the one on...somehow. I tried looking using adsiedit, but couldn't find anything. Does this make sense to any one? Thanks.

We have a 2003 cluster anda 2007 ccr, and the sendmail server. We are in the process of moving everyone over to the 07 cluster. The address on the user shows up like you would expect, without the 1 in the address. That's the strange part. When I add the email address to the user with a 1 as a secondary email addess, it allows it. I would expect it to say that address already exists? Here's the error: IMCEAEX-_O=BAW_OU=FIRST+20ADMINISTRATIVE+20GROUP_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=DPrice1@sample.com #550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found ##
