CAS Array 2 Intranet DNS zones

I have 2 intranet zones, one is an Active Directory Zone the other is not.

co1.myco.org <Active Directory Integrated

myco.org < NOT Active Directory Integrated

If I place my CAS array FQDN in myco.org and my CAS servers in co1.myco.org, will my CAS array function correctly or does my CAS Array FQDN have to be in an Active Directory Integrated  zone?

Never tried, but I'm pretty sure you should be able to use a CAS Array FQDN in myco.org, however it is a best practice that CAS Array name isn't resolved on Internet. It will work, but client will experiment slow OA connection.

It should be fine as long as the array url is reachable internally and points to the correct server or VIP or NLB IP, depending on your situation.

OK, great, thanks for the responses.  The name is only reachable internally (split DNS).  It light of your responses I will go with a CNAME on myco.org and A with PTR on co1.myco.org.  The double lookup to resolve the CNAME shouldn't slow things down since we don't have many hits on DNS.  I appreciate the input guys!

I do have an update.  I'm having an issue with that config where a mailbox that was moved over takes a very long time from the Outlook client side to connect to via autodiscover.  Once the autodiscover configures the Outlook client, the Outlook client still does not open.  The client complains that the client has to connect the the server at least once before it can open the personal folders.  Still trying to figure this out.
