I was looking to confiigure cas in HA using NLB in exchange 2013. I have seen that arrays has been removed and everyone is saying now ha using  nbl is easiy. Does it mean we just have to install nbl and configure with virtual ip and fqdn and configure virutal directory pointing to valid url for all virtual directory that is all. No need to create arrays. is that soo.

You can certainly stand up a Windows NLB cluster  to do load balancing for your Exchange 2013 environment.  I haven't used it in a long time, in fact I probably would push my clients in a different direction if it came down to it. With  Microsoft's recommendation of multirole servers (unelss there is a really good compelling reason to separate) kind of eliminate being able to use NLB since you can't have Failover cluster installed with the NLB components.  Since I have to build and configure a load balancer anyway, I typically try to go for a virtual appliance as opposed to building a NLB.  I just think the feature set you get are better and find it more reliable.

Yes, there is no CAS array in Exchange 2013. To load balance your CAS servers, you can use the following three ways. The solution you choose will be based on your requirements.

1. Windows Network Load Balancing

2. Hardware load balancing

3. DNS round robin
