Anyhow, I recommend you to post the issue in Directory services forum to get relevant help. I doubt if AD forum will help as this attribute is from CAS entries in the AD. Probably some body from MS core team can help.Raj

Hi Raj, I wonder why you check this attribute. Did you encounter any issue on the CAS server?

Not at all. All working fine. I am a ex PSS engineer for exchange and love to peek into ADSI and got this strange value. Raj

My Exchange server version is 14.01.0218.013 and I got the same Unicode string value for attribute Type in my local lab. There is no a document describing this attribute based on my research. If the server is runnign fine, I guess we may temp ignore this. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
