CalDav/CardDav support in Outlook 2013

Recently, I have been testing Office 2013 for enterprise deployment since it was released. However CalDav & CardDav support has mysteriously disappeared since the previews.

Right now we rely on middle ware that wasn't planning on releasing a version for Office 2013 because of it's inclusion. Now the developers are saying at least 18-months to get an enterprise ready middle ware application at a cost of $315,000.

My organization just brokered deals with many of our large enterprise corporations in excess of $3MM each for Microsoft Software with Software Assurance. The removal of CalDav and CardDav is a huge slap to the face.

Please advise by C.O.B 16-NOV-2012.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi,

It seems to be most of DAV functions are dropped in Outlook 2013.

I've been a loyal Outlook user since 2004, but I'm seriously considering switching to Thunderbird because I'm tired of Outlook's lack of calDAV support. calDAV is a standard; most mail clients support it these days. I used to consider outlook a full-function product, and it was the main reason why I kept buying office releases. I don't mind
Microsoft having proprietary formats, but they should also support the standards everyone else has embraced. After multiple Outlook releases without adequate support for these kind of things, and no official word from Microsoft, at the very least, with an explanation of why, I am about ready to give up. It would be one thing if Microsoft gave a reason, but the silence is the worst part of all. I prefer Outlook's interface in every way to all the competitors I've tried, but the lack of certain core features like calDAV are devastating to its value.

To hear that Microsoft added this feature, and then removed it, is just an insult.

I bought outlook 2013 for my new brand new surface pro... AND NO CALDAV support... just readonly... just returned the 2013 and using thunderbird with lightning...

M$ is soooooo afraid of google that even caldav (that google supports also) isn't working anymore...

Despite all the problems that I am facing with macros (VB) on excel from 2007 to 2013, now this...

I just do not understand with big companies continues to use this kind of model... I don't use 1% of excel / outlook resources... despite macros... openoffice would work for me...

Maybe that's why M# is tanking...

BTW... I am still searching for a CALDAV client, sync, whatever... If you guys know... please let me know...

PS:Returned my Lumia 1020 because I can't connect CALDAV also... back to my " OLD IPhone 5 " (WORKS CALDAV BTW...

WAKE UP M$ YOU ARE NOT THE KING OF THE HILL ANYMORE... LOOOK AROUND!

There is an add-in for outlook to support carddav and caldav in outlook now.

evo collaborator for outlook

EVO Collaborator for Outlook (ECO) integrates CardDAV and CalDAV services to utilize contacts, calendars and tasks features within Outlook 2007-2013.

cheers

The OpenProtocols connector allows you to add a CalDAV/CardDAV/IMAP account to Outlook. It is a full messaging service extension for outlook rather than a simple outlook plug-in.

This provides Calendar, Contacts,Notes,Tasks,Free-Busy and Global Address List over CalDAV/CardDAV/IMAP.  You can find it by googling arpdev.com (and it is free for personal use).

I know it's been just a little while since this last message was written, however I'm wondering what was done to make Open Protocols Connector to function. I've tried it a couple times and it always simply comes back with errors stating it couldn't connect to the dav server.
