I have one network (LAN) hosting two domains, County with Exchange and Social Services currently using GoDaddy hosted email. One of the domains, SS, will soon be moved into the other, County. In the mean time I installed Exchange mail accounts to the supervisors on the SS domain in order to share calanders. In Outlook calendar sharing is grayed out for folks on the SS domain with new Exchange accounts.

From my County PC if I try and share my calendar with one of the new Exchange email accounts at SS, I get an error:

Calendar sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network.

When I try and invite one of the SS supervisors, their new email account is found in my address book.

FYI, Forum category and Forum options do not have good options to select for this question. Feel free to move the thread where it belongs.

Do you mean when adding a recipient to a Calendar Sharing message, you selected it directly from your Address Book? By "Address Book", do you mean the Global Address List or a personal contact folder? Please make sure you selected it from GAL. See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/983062.

If above doesn't apply, please also try sharing calendar from within OWA to see if this issue continues.

My first try to invite a share from my PC on the county domain failed but I did not use the GAC. Trying a second time using GAC, the invites were allowed and received. But the receivers' invitation has grayed out options. See image.

So, I followed your tip and from a supervisor pc on the SS domain, I logged into OWA as the supervisor. I found instructions for OWA/Exchange 2007 sharing. Following those instructions, I tried a link similar to this:

http://mail.server.gov/exchange/username/calendar/

I was prompted to log-in, after which it said the permissions were wrong on that (Kurt's Calendar) calendar.

Yet, back on my county domain PC using Outlook, I was able to add all of the supervisor calendars to mine! Keep in mind that none of the supervisors have the ability to share at this point. That is a bit concerning.

Back on a supervisor's pc on the SS domain, using Outlook 2010(?) I also tried File->Open->Other User's Folder, but the OUF option is grayed out. The other options are available.

Suggestions anyone?

This issue is still not resolved. Please help.

After a little more testing I found that I can send invitations from the County domain and the supervisors on the SS domain can accept. Doing so pushes the event to their phones. We do have limited progress.

While I was able to "add" the supervisor calendars to mine, without an invitation, their calendars do appear in mine, but minus their events. Clicking one of these added objects presents a notice that the user has not approved access to their data.

I am now wondering if running BPA on the exchange server might reveal the problem. Or, is this problem more likely on the client side? I think the oldest office on the client side is 2010 or newer.
