Calculated Fields of Pivot greyed out in every pivot I create

Hello,

I would need urgent help with the issue. Every time I create a Pivot out of some data I cannot use the Option of Insert calculated fields. However if I sent the same Excel to somebody and they create a Pivot out of the same data and then they send it back to me then I can use the calculated field on the PIVot that this other person created but not at the Pivots I created.

I would Need Microsoft Support urgently on the issue.

Thanks

kristi

Hi,

In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.

  • Which Excel version are you using? Excel 2013 or other.
  • Did this issue occur only with the especial file?
  • Did you create a simple table to add the calculated field?

As far as I know, If we drive the Pivot Table from data that is included in the Excel spreadsheet, the "Calculate Field" button is available.  However, if the data is coming from an external source (i.e. my OLAP cube), it appears that the "Calculate Field" feature is not available.

If this issue occurred with the especial file, do you mind sending it to us via Email. (ibsofc@microsoft.com) I'd like to test it.

Hope it's helpful.
